Gambling Community Benefit Fund
$9 million in funding approved for 505 projects

When do applications close?
Treasurer Andrew Fraser has announced a more streamlined and flexible timetable for applications to the government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund so deadlines no longer clash with the end of the financial year, the start of school holidays and the Christmas/New Year period.
The next closing date for applications to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund is 31 August 2008. All applications must be posted. Applications postmarked on or before 31 August 2008 will be considered for the 58th round.
Following the next closing round, the new funding round closing dates are:
28 February, 31 May, 31 August and 30 November.

What does the GCBF do?
The Fund provides one-off grants of up to $30,000 to Queensland based not-for-profit community groups. The closing dates for the grant rounds are:
28 February, 31 May, 31 August and 30 November.
Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation
In addition to administering the community benefit funds and responsible gambling initiatives, the Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation regulates casinos, charitable gambling, machine gaming, interactive gambling, keno, lotteries and wagering. Regulatory activities include licensing premises and persons, investigating complaints, conducting prosecutions and ensuring industry compliance with gambling legislation.
