FAQs about accountability
If your question about accountability is not covered here, please contact us.
When are our accountability documents due?
The due date for the accountability certificate and requested documents to be returned to us is eight months after the approval of your organisation's grant. The accountability due date is printed at the top of your accountability certificate, which is sent with your organisation's grant approval package.
What do we do if we misplace our accountability certificate, or can't return the documents by the due date?
If you misplace your organisation's accountability certificate, contact us to get a new copy.
If you are unable to meet your organisation's accountability deadline, write to the Secretariat to explain your situation and to request an extension of time. Your request will be considered and a decision mailed to you. If you wish to discuss your request further, contact a Grants Officer.
We have completed our project and have come in under budget. Can we use the savings on something else?
Savings less than $300 can be kept by your organisation. Savings over $300 must be returned to us via cheque. The cheque should be made payable to Queensland Treasury. Contact a Grants Officer if you have any questions about returning savings.
We received a grant from the GCBF. However, we commenced our project before we received the grant. What do we do with the grant now? Can we spend it on our project, or other items?
You cannot begin your project before you receive formal notification of approval from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund. If you have commenced your project before being notified that your grant application has been successful, you will need to refund the grant to the GCBF.
For further advice, contact a Grants Officer.
Our project is going to take longer than the six month period specified by the GCBF guidelines to spend the grant. What do we do?
If you are unable to meet your project deadlines, write to us to explain your situation and to request an extension of time. Your request will be considered and a decision mailed to you.
Contact a Grants Officer for further information.
